Fenugreek Seeds

Available in
40g ECO Pack

Fenugreek is one of the oldest cultivated plants. It has a strong bitter flavour & almost maple syrup aroma.

Suggested Uses

Use sparingly to avoid a bitter taste.

commonly used in Middle Eastern & Turkish cuisine and some Indian Curries.

The seeds are very hard and I recommend grinding before use.

Toast in a dry frying pan before use to reduce bitterness and bring out sweetness and fragrance.

Use fenugreek to enhance meat, poultry and vegetable dishes.

Whole spices retain better flavour than ground. Store in the closed ziplock bag until needed and grind using a coffee grinder or mortar and pestle.

The Variety

Fenugreek, Trigonella foenum-graecum, is cultivated worldwide but its roots stem from cultivation in the Arabian Peninsula in ancient times.

For Your Appreciation

My fenugreek seeds are 100% natural and can even be sprouted at home for use of the highly aromatic leaves.
Fenugreek is a key ingredient in curry powder, and adds an exotic flavour and aroma to chutneys & pickles.

I want all New Zealanders to discover the natural, healthy way to add taste and flavour to food.
